Application Instructions WARNINGS

Water on the surface of the material in the bucket is normal and should be removed

before use or addition of colourants. All lime-based products lose their viscosity when

mixed and need a period of 6/12 hours after mixing to regain their density. This

product is dense, and ready for use; thus it may be necessary to use an appropriate

drill attachment to stir for a few minutes to reduce viscosity. Choose the colour and

add the toner additive to the container and continue mixing until a homogeneous shade

is obtained. Let the product rest for about 5 hours before you begin to use it.

We recommend using materials from the same production batch for the same project.

If you must use different batches, we suggest mixing their material together to avoid

any slight variations in shading.

To ensure proper usage, dilution, and application of the products mentioned in these

pages, please consult the corresponding technical data sheets.

When preparing the surface and applying the materials, we advise using appropriate

tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).

During application and for the following 72 hours, protect the surfaces from sudden

temperature change, direct sun light and water. Don’t apply in temperatures below 8°C

or above 35°. During application make sure that the work area isn’t too damp to avoid

problems with application times.

Remember to have a strong light parallel to the wall and situated on only one of the

two sides of the wall you are working on (usually on the same side as other sources of

light such as windows). In this way the shadow of the trowel allows you to see the

actual state of the finish. Every so often, during the second and third coat, the lightJanuary 24 TDS Grassello 3 of 4

should be moved so that the wall doesn’t dry out too much in one spot from the heat of

the lamp.

APPLICATION

Protection of the work area: Masking tape and protective material over the baseboards

and around windows and doors.

STUCCO Lustra Marble is a very thin material. For this reason, it has to be applied on

very smooth surfaces.

Using approximately 350-400 g/sqm, apply this coat on the primer taking care to apply

it evenly and without ridges. Make sure not to polish this coat, as it will lead to

adhesion problems in the final coat. You can remove any ridges with the help of a

spatula or light sanding.

Dust the surface and apply the second coat. Begin applying the second coat, after the

first is completely dry, using about 250-300 g/sqm. Make sure that the surface is as

smooth and ridges-free as possible, but do not induce any shine.

Apply the third coat of STUCCO Lustra Marble when the drying process of the second

coat is beginning. Use about 120 g/sqm for the final coat. For this coat, use a clean

stainless-steel trowel well prepared with the edge of the blade well-polished and

rounded, not sharp. Go over several times with the trowel to polish the surface. The

wall becomes shiny by pressure applied by the blade of the trowel on the wall. A final

polishing can be done with a non-woven fabric.

SPECIAL EFFECT:  To obtain a spatulate effect it is recommended to apply the second

layer with single small strokes of the trowel alternating a full space to an empty space

and returning after a few minutes on the same area to complete the application by

putting spatulates/strokes of material where we left empty spaces. The last coat will be

applied normally

Finish Protection Interior: HYDROCALCE / BEESWAX / MINERAL WAX / MARSEILLE SOAP

A protective treatment is optional in most circumstances. It is however necessary in

bathroom, kitchen and splashback walls.

After a minimum of 24 hours, at least one coat of the following can be applied:

A) MARSEILLE SOAP protective coating with a steel trowel. After 12 hours, go over

the surface with a cloth to remove the coat of surface powder produced by unabsorbed

soap.

B) NATURAL BEESWAX applied with a sponge. After a little while, before it dries, rub

vigorously with a woollen or soft cloth to obtain an even polish.

C) MINERAL WAX can be applied. First apply a coat of BEESWAX and soon, once it

is completely dry, a very thin layer of MINERAL WAX, which gives an extra shine effect

and a strong and durable water resistance.

Maintenance Little maintenance is needed, brushing off dust occasionally

Tools SI TROWEL, CORNER TROWEL, BIANKO, SCRAPERS, NON-WOVEN FABRIC

Clean with water immediately after use

Complements METALLIC BEESWAXJanuary 24 TDS Grassello 4 of 4
